The Blackstone Bar and Grill in Rochelle, IL – Fresh Bar & Grill Favorites

The bartender looks like Kat Timpf. She was very nice and provided excellent service. The chef Oliver made a burger than was very, very good. Was downright delicious. Kitchen was closing in 5 minutes. I didn't want to order cause so close to closing but Oliver insisted. Glad he did. I will definitely order it again. Thanks again

Met a friend for lunch today. First time either of us have been there. Food was average at best. Chicken tenders were dry but fries were good. Salad was nothing special. The restaurant was empty at 12 which should have been an indication of food to us.

Stopped in based on other reviews and can say we were not disappointed! Wanted something other than quick fast food while traveling through and they definitely delivered. The entire meal was fresh and made to order. We had the breaded mushrooms as the appetizer, the Italian beef sandwich w/fries, and the Blackstone Burger w/onion rings. Absolutely phenomenal!

The atmosphere was clean and updated. Had bar top high chairs which was great! The service was welcoming and very attentive! The food was pretty good! Had cowboy steak bites- they were okay wish they had a dip on the side for an appetizer, mahi-mahi was very good but messy/greasy, the smash burger lacked some flavor and Texas toast bread was crunchy but decent, chicken/bacon/ranch sandwich was cooked well but not a lot of flavor in the chicken and kids grilled cheese the Texas toast was alot of bread for one piece of cheese. The fries were perfect amount of crunchy and soft but thought the grease they were cooked in tasted kinda fishy. Over all the food was decent enough would eat again! But the overall environment is where it was at! Gets 4/5 based on wait time which was 50 minutes on a Sunday at 11:30am and only table to be served. And overall food flavor.

UPDATE--giving them one 1 more star because there food is so damn good. The owner has been putting lots of new dishes out and we have tried a few. I don't like the dine in so usually always take out. They're creative and delicious. In my last review I felt like it was too focused on what went wrong instead of whats been consistently right. Their food is great Good food everytime ive dined in, the atmosphere is meh. One time I was having dinner there W my kids , this dude was vaping and playing Xbox two tables away. That was weird. I didnt say anything cus bartender was cool with it and i just wanted to eat.

Stopped here for lunch on our way through Rochelle and we will definitely come back! The bartender and server, Missy, was delightful. Her service was terrific and the food did not disappoint. I had the hand breaded chicken sandwich with bang bang sauce on Texas toast and it was amazing. My husband had the cheesey smash burger and said the same. The seasoned fries and sweet potato fries were really good and the beer was cold and prices were fair.

Had a swell dinner date here at this new spot in downtown Rochelle. They did a fantastic job with the inside of the restaurant, it feels fresh and modern but still cozy and inviting. The service was great, and the food was scrumptious! Left me wanting to go back for more.

Stopped here randomly while trying to find somewhere with steak on Google. We were very pleased with our find! The building was nicely updated with clean bathrooms. We ordered chicken strips (real chicken!) a steak sandwich, Italian beef and a Philly cheese steak. Everything was outstanding! The bread on all 3 sandwiches was perfect. The amount of meat on each portion was large! We also tried the soup. It was thinner than I prefer my cream based soups to be but the flavor was great! I would definitely recommend stopping in for lunch or dinner. Price was very fair and I felt the portions were large for the price!
